Partake in a Memorable Hiking Adventure!

Hike Tribe is forming a team to partake on a multi-day hiking adventure and festival run by Highlander Australia.

Starting and ending in Mt Hotham, Victoria through the breath-taking Alpine National Park, you will experience epic trails, historic huts, old mines and stunning views, while we take care of food, route, water, air stations and epic, festival like camp grounds.

Unlike other outdoor events, Highlander Adventure is not a race. It’s all about the journey you embark on while hiking over multiple days. It’s a chance for a digital detox, reconnecting with nature, and enjoying the company of like-minded people.

Who is behind Hike Tribe?

Chloé Favre
Founder

It’s me, Chloe and if you’re here is because you want to partake in a great adventure!

To tell you a little about me, I absolutely love connecting people, exploring the outdoors, and soaking in the beauty of our incredible nature. There’s nothing better than having fun-filled days of adventure around Melbourne, and that’s exactly what Hike Tribe is all about!

A little about me! I grew up in a French Alpine family but found my true passion for hiking right here in Australia. After over a decade of exploring Aussie trails, I’ve completely fallen in love with the unique wildlife, stunning landscapes, and everything that makes hiking here so special. For me, hiking isn’t just about getting out of the city; it’s about having fun, building healthy habits, and feeling amazing, both physically and mentally.

With Hike Tribe, my mission is simple: to make the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for everyone! I will take you to explore Victoria’s incredible National and State Parks, to spend active days in nature, kick-start or boost your fitness, meet awesome people, and feel happier and healthier along the way.

My goal is to make sure you feel confident, safe, and ready to embrace all the fun and excitement that hiking can bring.

So, let’s get out there, connect with nature, and create unforgettable memories together!

What Our Hike Tribers Say About Us

Your Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before hitting the trail! From what to bring to booking details, we've got you covered. Explore the essentials for your next guided hiking adventure.

  • This event isn’t suitable for complete beginners, as some hiking experience is required. However, if you’re new to multi-day hiking, this is the perfect opportunity to take on the challenge in a fully organised event.

By joining my team, you’ll have access to my guidance and support throughout the preparation process. That said, this is still your adventureyou’ll be responsible for carrying your own pack with gear and preparing for the journey. I’ll be here to help, but the effort and training will be up to you!

  • Yes, you do! While this is a fully organised event, it is still a multi-day hike, so you’ll need to carry your overnight gear, including a tent, mattress, sleeping bag, change of clothes, cooking utensils… etc.

However, unlike solo adventures, food will be provided, so you’ll only need to carry one lunch meal. Water and food will also be available at all checkpoints.

But don’t worry, you have a month to prepare, and we’ll help you get any gear you’re missing through renting, borrowing, or sharing with other Hike Tribe team members

  • Food is provided but feel free to bring your own snacks especially if you have specific dietary.

  • No, transport is not included but we will organise car pooling amongst our Hike Tribe team.

  • Yes and no – you do need to prepare yourself and get the right gear for this event, especially because it can get really cold in the mountain. The cost depends on the gear you already own and whether you need to acquire additional items. It varies based on the brand, quality, and whether you buy new, second-hand, or rent. We see it as a worthwhile investment, marking the start of your hiking journey! We highly recommend getting your own hiking shoes, and you can always borrow other gear if needed. We will provide you with a checklist of must-have and optional gear to ensure you’re well-prepared. If you want to purchase equipment, we recommend ONE PLANET’s Camplist ( Link here). ONE PLANET is an Australian owned maker of quality outdoor gear that’s well priced and built to last. That’s good for the planet!  Or you can alternatively go to Bogong Equipment and you will get 10% discount if you part of Hike Tribe’s team. We will eventually discuss gear hire etc.

  • Please refer to Highlander’s Cancellation Policy on their website.

  • Partaking in an outdoor activity involves few risks due to the nature of the activity. However, training is essential and getting yourself physically prepared will minimise risks of injuries. Additionally, the event will provide first aid trainers and medics. We still highly encourage participants to get an ambulance cover in case of any issues.

  • Toilet facilities along the trail differ by location, and specific details will be provided for each checkpoints. However you will likely need to use a “bush toilet,” as we call it. To support environmental preservation, please carry toilet paper and waste bags. Please ensure all rubbish is properly disposed of, leaving no trace behind.

  • Yes they are. You must be 14+ years old to partake in our hiking tours.

  • We also apply our own grading system to help you choose a hike that suits your experience and fitness:

Beginner: Ideal for those new to hiking, featuring gentle hills and uneven terrain. These hikes average 2.5 hours with minimal ascents (under 300m).

Intermediate: Designed for those with some hiking experience, offering moderate challenges. These hikes average 3.5 hours with a total ascent around 450m.

Advanced: Perfect for confident hikers seeking rewarding day hike adventures. These hikes average 5 hours with up to 750m of total ascent.

Expert: For those eager to push their boundaries, these challenging hikes range from 6 to 8 hours, with an average ascent of 1000m.

Important Note: Our internal levels do not always align directly with the Australian Grading System. For example, a Grade 3 hike may be listed as Advanced due to its length, or a Grade 4 hike may be marked as Intermediate if the challenging section is brief.

You can find the Hike Level Grading on our hikes calendar. If you’re unsure about your fitness level or need assistance selecting a hike, feel free to contact our team, we’re happy to help!
