Hike Tribe Pty Ltd trading as ‘Hike Tribe’ (‘Hike Tribe’, ‘Us’, ‘We’) (ABN: 36 906 566 199) provides guided hiking experiences, outdoor events, wellness activities, and related services throughout Australia and selected international destinations.
These Terms & Conditions (‘Conditions’) form the basis upon which each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms of participation in any Hike Tribe activity prior to completing a booking.
By registering for an event, experience, or service with Hike Tribe, you confirm your acceptance of these Conditions in full.
Hike Tribe may update, amend, or revise these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. It is the responsibility of the participant to review the most current version prior to each booking or purchase. We strongly recommend that all participants carefully read all event-specific information, including location, duration, physical requirements, and safety considerations, to ensure they fully understand the nature of the activity before confirming participation.
Participation in Hike Tribe activities involves outdoor physical activity, including walking on natural terrain, which may present inherent risks. By booking and attending an event, participants acknowledge and accept these risks as part of their participation.
COVID / Illness Policy
Hike Tribe treats COVID-19 and other communicable illnesses in the same manner as any other reason preventing attendance. If you are unable to attend an event due to illness or related circumstances, our standard cancellation policy will apply. Participants are encouraged to seek appropriate travel or personal insurance to cover any potential losses.
Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy governs how Hike Tribe collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information collected from users of our website and services. This policy applies to all Hike Tribe events, products, and services and can be accessed via our website.
Copyright
All content published by Hike Tribe, including but not limited to text, imagery, graphics, branding, logos, and digital materials, is the property of Hike Tribe and/or its content creators. This material is protected under applicable copyright laws and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written permission.
Communications
All communication with Hike Tribe is conducted electronically. By engaging with our services, you consent to receive communications from us via email, SMS, and website updates.
If you subscribe to our mailing list or newsletters, you agree to receive periodic communications regarding events, updates, and promotional content. All electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
Applicable Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with Hike Tribe services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts.
Bookings
All bookings are made with Hike Tribe Pty Ltd and processed in Australian Dollars (AUD) via our secure booking system.
Failure to make required payments may result in cancellation of your booking.
All prices include applicable GST, merchant fees, and booking charges unless otherwise stated.
Payments
By completing a booking, you authorise Hike Tribe to charge the nominated payment method for the full or agreed instalment amount.
Payment plans, where available, will be displayed at checkout. Deposits are strictly non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Unless otherwise stated, booking fees do not include:
Travel to and from the event location (unless specified)
Personal insurance
Optional activities or add-ons
Personal equipment or clothing
Cancellations by the Participant
If you do not attend an event for any reason, all payments are forfeited.
If you cancel prior to the event, the following applies:
Single Day Events
More than 7 days prior, we will provide you with credit for the amount paid less a15% administration fee. Less than 7 days will result in 100% forfeit of all monies paid.
Multi-Day Events (2+ nights)
More than 30 days prior, we will provide you with credit for the amount paid less a deposit. Less than 29 days will result in 100% forfeit of all monies paid.
Program & Training
More than 60 days prior, we will provide you with credit for the amount paid minus the deposit.
Between 59-30 days we will retain 50% of the full cost of the event.
Less than 29 days prior to your event start date, 100% of the event price will be forfeited.
Social Events
All registrations are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated.
Cancellations by Hike Tribe
Hike Tribe may cancel participation if:
Terms are breached
False or misleading information is provided
Participant is deemed unfit
Unsafe or disrespectful behaviour occurs
Event Postponement
Hike Tribe reserves the right to postpone or reschedule any event due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:
Extreme weather conditions
Fire danger or park closures
Safety risks
Insufficient participant numbers
Staffing or operational constraints
Where an event is postponed, participants will be transferred to a new date or issued a credit at Hike Tribe’s discretion. No refunds will be provided for postponed events.
Hike Tribe is not responsible for any indirect costs incurred by participants, including travel, accommodation, or loss of income.
Route/Event Changes
Participants acknowledge that outdoor events are subject to change. Routes, schedules, locations, and activities may be adjusted due to weather, safety, or environmental conditions without prior notice.
Hike Tribe will endeavour to maintain the quality and intent of the experience but is not liable for any additional costs resulting from such changes.
Third Party Providers
Some services or activities may be provided by independent third-party operators. In such cases, participants acknowledge that their contractual relationship for those services is directly with the third party provider, and Hike Tribe is not liable for their performance.
Transport
Participants must arrange their own transport unless specified. Carpooling is optional and at the participants discretion.. Hike Tribe accepts no liability for any incident during persona l carpooling.
Hike Tribe reserves the right to alter routes or transport arrangements due to operational or safety reasons.
Insurance
Hike Tribe holds Public Liability Insurance of up to $20,000,000. Participants are strongly encouraged to hold appropriate personal insurance, including ambulance cover and travel insurance where applicable. For multi-day events, comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, evacuation, cancellation, and loss of belongings is strongly recommended.
Hike Tribe is not responsible for any costs arising from inadequate insurance coverage.
Age & Health Requirements
Hike Tribe may refuse participation to any individual who does not meet required health, fitness, or safety standards.
You may be asked to complete the Health Questionnaire honestly and fully and update Hike Tribe if your condition changes. Hike Tribe may request medical clearance for participants aged over 60 or with pre-existing conditions.
Participants must not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Medical Disclosure
By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you have disclosed all relevant medical conditions, injuries, allergies, and medications that may affect your participation.
You confirm that you are physically capable of participating in the booked activity and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional.
Risk & Liability
Participants acknowledge that hiking and outdoor activities carry inherent risks including, but not limited to, injury, illness, and environmental hazards.
By participating, you accept these risks voluntarily and acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hike Tribe excludes liability for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, except where caused by gross negligence.
By booking or participating in any Hike Tribe activity, you confirm that you understand and accept the nature of outdoor adventure activities and assume all associated risks.
