The Lerderderg Scenic Rim offers a demanding and rewarding hike, showcasing the rugged beauty of the Lerderderg State Park. Experience the rugged beauty of the Great Dividing Range on the Scenic Rim hike. This longer circuit will take you through the Lerderderg River gorge, relics of gold mining, and up the challenging Long Point Spur. Enjoy breathtaking views, a dip in Grahams Dam, and a unique crossing of the Lerderderg Weir.

  • Pack a comfortable day backpack with 2L of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection. Wear sturdy trainers with good grip or, ideally, waterproof hiking boots and bring a waterproof jacket for unexpected rain or wind. Also consider using hiking poles to support your knees on descents and maintain balance, and gaiters for extra protection against snakes and rain (though they are optional). Swim-suit & towel for a dip in the river.
