Plenty Gorge Park, located just 20 km northeast of Melbourne, offers a diverse natural landscape featuring the popular Blue Lake (perfect for a refreshing dip) and the picturesque Plenty River Gorge. This circuit extends beyond the lake, offering a 10-kilometer adventure through native woodlands, open grasslands, and peaceful bushland. Along the way, enjoy opportunities for wildlife spotting, including kangaroos and native birds, while soaking in the natural charm of this hidden gem close to Melbourne. Expect to encounter mountain bike riders sharing the same path.

This hike is ideal for beginners, offering a relatively easy track waving up and down throughout the parkland.
What to Bring:
Pack a comfortable day backpack with 2L of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection. Wear sturdy trainers with good grip or, ideally, waterproof hiking boots and bring a waterproof jacket for unexpected rain or wind. Also consider using hiking poles to support your knees on descents and maintain balance, and gaiters for extra protection against snakes and rain (though they are optional). Bathing-suit & towel (for summer).
